The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship 2024/2025 programme is part of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission and offers a fantastic opportunity for postgraduate students from Least Developed and middle-income countries to study in the UK.
The scholarships are intended to provide training for skilled professionals and academics who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK and have the potential to enhance the development of their home countries.
Who is Eligible for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2024/2025
To be eligible for these scholarships,
1. Applicants must be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, permanently reside in an eligible Commonwealth country, and be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2024.
2. Applicants must hold a first degree of at least upper second-class honours standard, have not studied or worked for more than one year in a high-income country.
3. Must be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2024/2025 Scholarship Worth
1. The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are jointly funded by the CSC and participating UK universities.
2. Each scholarship includes approved airfare to and from the UK, approved tuition fees, a living allowance, warm clothing allowance, thesis grant, study travel grant, and contribution towards the cost of a mandatory tuberculosis test, if required for a visa application.
3. Child allowance is provided for Scholars with children who are widowed, divorced, or single parents.

Applications will be considered based on academic merit, quality of research proposal, and potential impact on the development of the candidate’s home country.
How to Apply for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2024/2025
Applications for Commonwealth Shared Scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year are now open and the deadline for submitting an application is 16:00 GMT on March 30th 2024.
Applications must be made using the CSC’s online application system and applicants are encouraged to complete and submit applications as early as possible to avoid any issues with the online application system being busy close to the deadline.
