Information reaching HonestyNewsGh communicate that, five people have been confirmed dead in an accident in which a Toyota Hilux Pick up and a Mercedes Sprinter Bus collided head-on on the Obuasi- Dunkwaw road on Saturday evening.
The deceased include the driver in charge of the pick up vehicle identified as Alhaji Mustapha Iddrisu who is 50years.
Seventeen of them who are in a critical condition are on admission at Obuasi- Government and Anglogold Ashanti Hospital where the bodies of the deceased have been deposited.
The Ashanti Regional Commander of the motor traffic and transport department, Superintendent Emmanuel Adu Boahen Tells Nhyira Fm that, the driver, on reaching a section of the road at the outskirts of Adinkra, allegedly attempted to overtakea leading vehicle. According to him, the vehicle in the process veered off his lane to the opposite direction and collided head-on with the Sprinter Benz Bus with the registration number, AW 6620-30 with 18 passengers on board.
Several victims who are yet to be identified and are in critical condition are receiving medical attention at the two Hospitals.
