Per the salary schedule by the Controller and Accountant General’s Department, public sector workers on government payroll are expected to get paid on 21st of January 2022.
This was captured in a memo issued by CAGD declaring dates for the payment of salaries this year for civil servants.
According to some public workers, this initiative by the CAGD will bring a smile on the faces of all civil servants due to high financial stress many people go through after Christmas holidays.
Salaries and wages of government employees are usually paid through the Controller and Accountant General’s Department. Employees always receive their salaries at the end of every month. However, payment date for each month varies depending on some internal or external factors.
“Notice is hereby given that the year 2022 Salaries and Wages of Civil Servants, persons at the Ghana Education Service (GES) and all other Public Servants will get paid on the dates indicated below;
MONTHS DATES
January 21st
February 25th
March 25th
April 26th
May 26th
June 24th
July 26th
August 26th
September 27th
October 25th
November 25th
December 19th
“The various banks will start crediting the accounts of employees from the dates
indicated above. Any change in the above dates will be communicated to the Ministries, Departments Agencies, Assemblies and respective Banks”, the memo added.
