NEWS IN: WAEC To Use QR Codes To Check Examination Malpractices
Examination malpractice has always been an issue in Ghana and Africa as a whole when it comes to external examination. The council has over the years been criticised for the examination malpractices.
According to the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), the tool to curb this examination malpractice has finally been discovered, and that is the use of QR Codes in each question paper of candidates during the examination.

Speaking to City News monitored by Honestynewsgh on the sideline of the 69th Annual council meeting, the council uncovered that this technology and other interventions will make it practically impossible to duplicate exams questions.
The Chairman of WAEC, Professor Ato Essuman explained how this will work.
“We have a new innovation now, that will track the question papers through the QR code. Whenever anyone tries running copies of a question paper, we will be alerted through our server.”

“Each question paper will have a unique code, linked to a candidate’s index number and identification number. We can thus trace the perpetrators,” he said.
