BANDA CLASHES: ASIEDU NKETIA “COMBAT” SOLDIERS ( VIDEO)

The general secretary of the biggest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has been seen captured in a video exchanging words with some armed soldiers at Banda in the Bono Region over allegations that personnels of the Ghana Armed Forces were preventing eligible voters in the area from registering in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

This comes a day after the flag bearer of the NDC, formal president of the republic, John Mahama, posted a similar video on his Facebook wall disclosing a vivid allegation that Nana Akuffo Addo government is using the Army to prevent Ewes and Non-Akans from taking part in the registration exercise.

He then stated that, ” the road president Akuffo-Addo is taking our beautiful country through, using the military and party tags to stop people from exercising their right to register and vote in the upcoming general elections is dangerous and unacceptable”.

According to the flag bearer, ” Executive power must not be used to instigate ethnic discrimination and abuse as is happening under Nana Akuffo Addo”.

” The will surely never happen under a new NDC administration because we will encourage a spirit of peace and unity in our country”.

According to the electoral commission of Ghana, the exercise has entered it’s final phase and will end on Thursday, 6 August 2020.

The management of the commission is urging all eligible voters who have not yet registered to do so.
