The first gentleman of the land, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has promised to pay all customers of Diamond Microfinance Limited (DKM) in full by the end of September.
As part of his presidential tour at Wenchi in the Bono Region, Nana stated to the chiefs and the peoples that everyone who was owned money by the Microfinance company will receive payment.
Background
In 2015, the Central Bank suspended the operations of DKM for violating the banking Act.
According to then- president, John Mahama and his Finance Minister, Seth Temper, DKM Microfinance had spent about Ghc77 million of their clients monies.
However, before the 2016 general election, president Nana Addo took it upon himself in his campaign as he assured all the clients that he will pay all their monies to them when he is voted into power.
