The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has assured teachers of his commitment to ensuring that their outstanding issues with government and other challenges they face in the service are dealt with.
According to the Bosomtwe MP, the welfare of teachers is something he is committed to and his outfit is set to launch the Teacher Welfare Portal to receive and bring resolution to their concerns.
Speaking on “Kokrokoo”, one of the most popular and trusted morning show on PeaceFM monitored by Honestynewsgh, the Minister reiterated that the portal is almost ready and after the launching, case managers will be assigned to handle all submitted concerns of the teachers.
“The Teachers Welfare Portal will be launched in the first week of March. The Akufo-Addo led government is committed to making the teaching profession in the country attractive by providing teachers with the necessary tools needed for effective academic activities.
“We implemented the one teacher one laptop policy and is on course. What the president is saying is that teachers are the centre piece of his Education Transformation Agenda”, he indicated.
A concerned teacher after listening to the Minister told Honestynewsgh that the government commitment to addressing issues affecting teachers upgrading, responsibility allowance, transfer grant, promotion and others is running at a low velocity.
“We hope that with this new teachers Welfare website, the case managers will work assiduously to address all submitted issues”, he added.
