Students of Akropong Sch for the Blind embark on demo; demand removal of ‘abusive’ headmistress
Some students of the Akropong School for the Blind in Akuapem United North Municipality in Eastern Region Friday embarked on a demonstration demanding the immediate removal of the headmistress of the school, Madam Mahela Narh.

The students say the headmistress has been diverting donated items for her personal use and sometimes selling them.
The demonstration was staged on the premises of the school. The students claim that the headmistress has been engaged in misappropriation of funds, selling of foods donated by philanthropist and verbally abusing students over their disability.
RECOMMENDED
A joint petition was submitted by the Students Representative Council and the progressive Old students of Akropng School for the Blind to GES. The petition is to call on stakeholders, the office of the president, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and CHRAJ for interdiction of the headmistress for proper investigation to be conducted.

The Municipal Education Director, Madam Elizabeth Korkor Amanor received the joint petition and has assured the students that their claims will be investigated.
