SAD: A teacher reportedly commits suicide over hardship after investing huge in Qnet

A report coming from Tinkong, Eastern region in the Akuapem North Municipality indicates that a teacher identified as John Atta Asamoah Duodu a.k.a “O-Level” is said to have hanged himself with a piece of cloth. The sad incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, 18th July, 2021.

Though, the deceased did not leave any  information behind stating clearly reasons for commiting suicide, but according to information from the family, he was allegedly deceived to take a huge amount of loan from undisclosed bank to invest in Quest International (Qnet), an online network marketing business which later turned out to be a scam.

John Atta Asamoah Duodu (Deceased) was faced with economic hardship after being scammed following the whooping deductions from his monthly salary and suddenly committed suicide to escape shame, humiliations and frustrations in life.

The brother of the deceased Mr. Benjamin Boateng explained that, “apart from the fact that he complained that he only takes home GH¢500 after deduction of his loan, he was hallucinating too so it seems there were evil forces haunting him”.

The body of John Atta Asamoah Duodu has been conveyed by the Adawso police to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Some Ghanaians who reacted to the death of the young Ghanaian teacher said, they really hate to talk about issues relating to Quest International because it has ruined my relationship and precious lives.

Quest International

Quest International is online network marketing business allegedly founded by Dato Sri Vijay and Joseph Bismarck Jappah. Information discloses that, before you can join the business, you need to pay a whooping amount of money ranging between GH¢4,000.00 to GH¢7,000.00 or even more depending on the dollar to the cedis rate. The nature of the business is structured that, even if you don’t have the capital to start, the managers of the Quest International will assist individuals on government Payroll to get a loan from Bank to join the business.

Sadly for John Atta Asamoah Duodu, he was allegedly misled by a closed friend to join the business thereby risking his life.
