Over the years, Legal Education in Ghana has received much calls from stakeholders for a proposed expansion for smooth access to legal education for persons who have the interest in studying law in the country.
Becoming a lawyer is one of the most admired professions that people sought after in Ghana and even most parts of the world. Notwithstanding, there is a higher demand for lawyers in Ghana but access to study it has become a problem.
However, anyone who wants to become a lawyer in Ghana should first take note that, it takes aduration of three to four years to obtain a first degree from any of the accredited or recognized law schools in Ghana.
The limited availability of space for
prospective law students to study and acquire their practising license seems to have brought with it a relatively high cost of acquiring legal education.
Data sighted by Honestynewgh indicates that law students from the various law faculties, as well as the Ghana School of Law for the 2021/2022 academic year, are paying between GHC1,608 and $9,000.
