JUST IN || GNAT Cancer Fund Increment To Take Effect In April, 2022 – GNAT || Read Details

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has increased the monthly Cancer Fund Contribution for it members from Ghc2.00 to Ghc5.00 per month.

According to the Association,  this new development has been already communicated to the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) to effect it in April 2022.

This information intercepted by Honestynewsgh was contained in a text message received by some of the members of the Association.

“UNION ALERT: Dear Comrades, in view of
the National Delegates Conference Decision – 2022 and subsequent to the Membership Education on the adjustment of the Cancer
Fund from GHC2 to GHC5, kindly be informed that same has been communicated to CAGD, to effect it in APRIL 2022. Thank you for your support. God bless you.

The resolution to increase the Cancer Fund was approved at the National Delegates Conference of the Association held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Great Hall, Kumasi scheduled on 2nd January, 2022 to 9th January, 2022.

The leadership of the Association said, there is a need to increase the current monthly contribution of GH¢2.00 to GH¢5.00 per a teacher per month.

This is because the cancer center treats all types of cancers except Cancer of the blood but patients with this type of cancer will get refund from the cancer fund for their treatment cost. The benefit of the fund covers one’s life even after retirement.
