GES not mandated to employ basic education graduates but the service is seeking financial clearance to employ them

The Minister if Education, Prof Opoku Amankwah has clearly made it known in an interview on Peace FM that, the service is seeking financial clearance to employ basic education graduates.

According to the minister, it is not mandated for Ghana Education Service to employ basic education graduates. However it employs such graduates once in a while.

” GES employs basic education graduates when needed. Thus when there is vacancy because they didn’t attend college of education. The service is not mandated to employ such graduates. However, the GES is seeking financial clearance to employ them”.

In regards to this pronouncement, it implies that basis education graduates will continue to remain at home until the seeking of the financial clearance goes through successfully.
