Fight for upgrading, salary increment and promotion for teachers and not unnecessary provident fund- Teachers Fires GNAT leaders
Members of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) have called on their leadership of the Union to fight for relevant major issues affecting teachers in the country now rather than fighting over the change of name of the Provident Fund.

This came up after the leadership of GNAT on 21st June, filed an application of interlocutory injunction at Accra High Court against the board of trustees of the GNAT provident fund.
According to teachers of the Union, the leadership of the mother of all teacher unions must fight over relevant issues like failure of GES to upgrade teachers who have gone for further studies to their respective ranks, refusal of GES to promote teachers who qualify for promotion and last but not the least, the government’s failure to increase teachers salaries.
“The fight over the change of name of the Provident Fund is irrelevant and unnecessary. Fight over relevant major issues!” Some teachers tell GNAT leaders.
