CAUTION: Desist From GES Special Postings/ Reposting In The Upcoming 2021 Postings. Postings To Follow Last Year’s Criteria. – NQTT’s Told.

The management of Ghana Education Service (GES) is yet to open the recruitment portal for all qualified interested graduates from both colleges of education and universities to apply for this year’s 2021 GES recruitment.

The delay as to whether they will be posted or not has caused a dissaray in the minds of all newly trained teachers who  are yet to apply.  Meanwhile, the GES during a presentation at the Ghana Teacher’s Awards Ceremony indicated that, the service is set to recruit to a total of 40,000 persons, both teaching and non -teaching staff when the portal is opened.

ISSUES ON GES SPECIAL POSTINGS/ REPOSTING.

On countless occasions, stakeholders and authorities of the Ghana Education Service had always charged newly trained teachers to accept postings to places where their services would be needed especially the rural areas.

The Director General of Education, Prof. Opoku Amankwah in an interview revealed that though the number of teachers to be recruited this year is higher as compared to last year’s number, same criteria will be used in this year’s postings where postings would be made to fill special declared vacancies.

Recently, the minister of education at the meeting with the Executives of TTAG over the delay in opening of the recruitment  portal also charged the newly trained teachers to accept postings to wherever they will be posted to.

2020 GES Posting/ Reposting Agony

Even though it was allegedly reported that hundreds of persons engaged themselves in special postings before the offficial release of the GES postings, last year’s postings saw over 60% of recruited staffs sent to the Northern part ( Savannah region, Upper west region, Northern region, Upper East region)  of the country whiles others were sent to the rural areas in other regions.

Before the release of the postings, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Education Minister at that time in an interview on UTV in November 2020 emphatically started clearly and boldly that there will not be any reposting after the release. Less attention was paid to his statement but later turned to be a story on it own.

The uncaring kind of postings as described by some unsatisfied recruited staffs created much pain and hence pushing most of them to engage in reposting.  A lot of persons passed through the backdoor, paid huge amount of money to individuals who turned themselves to be GES officials to help them change their place of posting.

However, a few out of the number were able to get their postings changed but the rest got stacked and lost their monies along the line.

On the other hand, some persons who for some reasons were not satisfied also got on their heals and matched to the GES Headquarters to plead for mercy but saw their showers of plea fell on a hard rock.

Words Of Advice

In regards to the above mentioned, Honestynewsgh wishes to urge all newly trained teachers that recruitment processes at the national level do not involve payment of money and so no newly trained teacher should pay any money in relation to the processes to any official or protocol man.
