Residents at Dome- Faase flee after armed soldiers stormed community

Hundreds of residents of Dome-Faase in the Ga South Municipality have abandoned their homes after over 300 armed soldiers stormed the community in search of some civilians who assaulted two soldiers during a land conflict.

The two soldiers were severely injured when they were attacked by the furious residents over land ownership.

One of the soldiers who identified himself as Clement Asare-Addo claimed that warning shots had been fired with the hope of dispersing the agitated residents.

The residents accused them of not having been officially assigned to that post.

He added that even after explaining to the leader of the group that they were not criminals, the group proceeded to beat them up.

Information gathered by HonestyNewsGh revealed that only a few women and children have been left behind.

They said, all the men in the Dome Faase community including the chief of the land  have fled to surrounding villages.
