*NEWS IN: Latest Development to Take Note As a GES Staff- GES* A must read by all teachers

As part of the measures and efforts taken by GES to make the various processes facilitators go through to get their concerns heard and issues reduced as quick as possible, well designed guidelines have been instituted to make sure it members to enjoy the hustle free procedures concerning the various issues they one way or the other face at work places.

1. Writing of letters to office


All letters end at office should be only one copy. Letters ending at Regional Office and National should be 2 and 3 copies respectively.

2. Study Leave


Teachers from all colleges of Education are to be in the teaching field for 3 years (town) and 2 years (deprived areas) before applying for study leave. This implies to sandwich and distance students.

3. Permission before embarking on further studies

It has come to the notice of the management of GES that, there are a lot of fake certificate in the GES system. In order to eradicate that, henceforth anyone who wants to embark on further studies whether regular, sandwich or distance course must first seek permission from the district office.

4. Teaching in the Senior High School

Teaching in the SHS required a facilitator who has attended university in regular mode and has majored in a particular subject. Teachers who wants to teach in the SHS must apply for study leave and enroll in regular mode.

Other than that, Secondary Education done in sandwich and distance will not be considered.

5. Promotion

Henceforth, all promotion will be approved by the director general of GES. There will not be mass promotion anymore where all teachers will be prompted to SS 1.

Things they will look at;

* Attendance

* Output of work

* Involvement in co- curricular activities

* Lesson note preparation

* Writing of promotion exams

6. Validation

Since GES is part of public service in Ghana, the validation should be used to suit the rules of PS. Teachers who absent themselves from school without any tangible written permission should be validated with issues. Controller upon seeing that will affect deduction.

Under no circumstances should a validator cover for a teacher. When such validator is caught, he or she will be sanctioned and the teacher affected will also pay for the days absent and other penalties.

Transfered teachers should be added as missing staff. They should see the IPPD coordinator for transfer of management unit.

7. Transfer and reposting

Henceforth, there will not be transfer until the office gets new teacher for replacement.
