First Batch Of 95 Ghanaian Nurses To Barbados Arrive

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the selection of 95 Ghanaian Nurses to go and serve in Barbados under two 2 years contractual agreement.

The nurses, comprising 46 males and 49 females were seen off at the Kotoka International Airport by the Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Tina Gifty Mensah and some officials from the ministry.

Information gathered by HonestyNewsGh indicates that, a total of 600 applicants expressed interest in working in Barbados until 95 qualified individuals were selected for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown in the Caribbean country.

The nurses were welcomed by the Barbados minister for health, Lt Col Jeffrey Bostic , minister of tourism, Senator Lisa Cummins and other government officials.

The ministry of health indicated that the nurses will be posted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals and polytechnics to support health care delivery in Barbados.
