EXCLUSIVE: Do Not Register For “Teacher Registered Number”. NTC Urges All In-service Teachers. A must read

Statement released by the National Teaching Council (NTC) a body mandated for issuing license to teachers in Ghana, on 22nd of April revealed that the Council will commence issuing of license to all Qualified in-service teachers starting from 12th May, 2021.

With such license, all qualified in-service teachers will have their license numbers.

Henceforth, the NTC is urging all teachers not to register for “teacher registered number” anymore. This is because, the license number which will be on the license to be issued will replace the teacher registered number.  The teacher registered number will be phased out once you receive your license number.

NOTE: Registration for the teacher registered number is not the same as registering on the Teacher Portal Ghana (TPG).

Registering on the TPG is as part of the princesses leading to the licensing of in-service teachers whiles the teacher registered number gives you the teacher some recognition as a qualified teacher in Ghana.

Acquiring teacher registered number has differ from year to year base on the educational reforms and policies introduced by the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service as well as the National Teaching Council. It was just as important as the teachers Staff-ID and was not taken for granted.

Application Procedure On How Teacher Registered Number Was Acquired

1. Start by visiting: http://ntc.gov.gh

2. Then click on the “Teachers Without Registered Number” button

3. Or just visit: https//ntc.gov.gh/register

4. Click on the signup tab to create an account if you have not.

5. Afterwards click on the sign in tab

6. Provide the login details you created during the signup

7. Afterward fill the NTC teacher registered form and upload all the Scanned Documents listed below

8. Click on submit when done.

Eligibility And Documents Required For Applying

Applicants who were eligible for consideration were required to provide the documents below.

1. WASSCE certificate

2. College certificate

3. Transcript

4. Cover letter from Headteachers

5. Payslip if any

6. An Application letter addressed to the Executive Secretary NTC, Accra, seeking for the generation of your registered number.

7. Indicate your institution as well as your year of completion in the application letter.

How  Teacher Registered Number Were Received After Applying

The NTC after reviewing your application will send you your Teacher Registered Number by email or alert you to login to your portal to access it.
